The beachfront (and almost perfect reviews from Trip Advisor) Dunes village Resort and Water Park in Myrtle Beach SC offers a combined 30,000 square foot water complex. There are 2 indoor water parks here (1 in each tower). Guests here will enjoy a lazy river, water slides (speed slide and winding slide), whirlpools (1 outdoor and 5 indoor), a kiddie area with an interactive play pool and waterfall buckets and a pool big enough to swim laps in. The seasonal outdoor pool deck is oceanfront and houses a 250 foot lazy river as well as a massive pool. The resort typically provides live music in the afternoons. Relax in one of plenty lounge chairs or sip on an ice cold beverage at the pool side bar. Parents will love the indoor/outdoor whirlpools (the outdoor one is huge). The Dunes Village Resort and Water Park even has 2 boardwalks taking you from the pool deck out to the ocean. Aside from the water play you will find a kids club and 2 restaurants. To say the least it is the perfect family friendly getaway for those looking for a pretty cool water park to chill out in. Conveniently situated on North Ocean Blvd the Dunes Village resort and Water Park is nearby all the fun: Family, Kingdom, Broadway at the Beach and NASCAR SpeedPark.You will also find the Myrtle Waves Water Park just 3.4 miles away but who needs that with a water park already on the premises? The accommodations consist of studios, suites and condos. Even the studios have kitchenettes. The suites and condos have full kitchens. They all have at least 2 TV’s. There is a lot to do at the Dunes Village Water Park Resort.
Staying in the Towers
Before reserving at this location be aware that this resort is on the North end of Myrtle Beach. After checking into the Dunes Village Resort Water Park Myrtle Beach,I recommend asking for accommodations above the fifth floor. They usually are quieter and will give you a full view of the ocean meaning you won’t see the pool (unless you look down). This resort has 2 towers: Palms Tower and Palmetto Tower. Both towers have indoor water park areas and can be used by all guests regardless of which building you stay in. They both seem to have the same quality of rooms however the Palms Tower is somewhat newer. The Palmetto tower has the 2 smaller water slides, lazy river and a small pool that can be used for water basketball. You will find jacuzzis there as well. You can also enjoy shuffleboard, a pool table, Foosball and ping pong. There will be kids activities offered at this tower. Outside of the Palmetto Tower at the Dunes Village Resort is an outdoor pool area (3 to 5 feet). The outdoor bar is located here as well. Live music is typical in this area. All in all the Palmetto tower is perfect for smaller children. The Palm Tower houses the indoor water park perfect for teens/tweens/adults because it houses the twisty water slide as well as a speed slide. The Palm Tower at the Dunes village Resort also boasts an indoor pool and jacuzzis as well as a variety of water structures. Outside of the Palm you will notice a lazy river and an outdoor pool (3 to 5 feet).

Pros:
The Dunes Village Resort in Myrtle Beach scores very high marks for their accommodations and the quality of the staff. So many of the guests talk about how much they enjoy visiting with their kids because of the Water Slides and Lazy River and indoor water fun. Having a room with an Ocean view is so peaceful to wake up to each morning.

There are a few guests who mention that the room they stayed in was close to needing to be updated. Be aware of the sales pitches for Timeshare. This is one of the negatives listed and some guests did not like the length of the presentation.

Kids Fun Activities
During the summer The Dunes Village Resort Water Park offers fun kids activities every week day. The scheduled activities include day and night events such as balloon animals, swim suite theater in the dark parties with drinks and popcorn, hair braiding, tie dye t-shirts, chocolate bingo, make your own sundae and family photos. Although there is a small fee for some supplies it’s provides something for your children to look forward to.
Lastly: Although the Dunes Village Resort Water Park advertises the Cinzia Spa it is located 8.9 miles away from the resort itself (20 minute drive in traffic). However it is very relaxing so why not pamper yourself? Choose between international rituals, body treatments, massage, facials and hands/feet treatments. You can go for an hour or spend a whole day here. Be aware that they will charge an automatic 20% gratuity to the price of every treatment they offer.

There are a total of 292 guestrooms (studios, suites and condos) at the 3 star Dunes Village Water Park Resort. Most of the accommodations are either oceanfront or oceanview and have balconies. Studios are available for up to 4 guests. They have kitchenettes and dining areas. The King studios will come with a sofa bed. The double studio will come with 2 double sized, extra long beds. Make sure when reserving these rooms that if you are needing 2 beds and would not prefer a sofa bed to specifically ask for the 2 doubles. The queen suites have 1 bedroom giving you the additional privacy of a separate room. They accommodate up to 6 guests with 2 queens and a sofa bed. The full kitchen include includes granite and a washer/dryer set up. The full bath offers a jacuzzi. The deluxe queen suite offers an extended balcony which is about the only difference between the standard/deluxe suites. The angle suites are pretty cool. The angle king accommodates up to 6 guests and give you more space with the same amenities as the suites. The angle queen accommodates up to 8 guests (2 queens, sofa bed, wall bed). The condo units provide either 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms all with 1 jacuzzi tub in the main bath. The 2 bedroom offers a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 full baths, 3 TV’s and can sleep up to 8 guests. The only difference with the angle 2 bedroom is the space. The difference with the deluxe 2 bedroom is that it only has 1 king and 1 queen in the 2 separate bedrooms. It can sleep 6 guests. For the bigger families needing more bedding you’ll want to check out the Angle 2 bedroom 4 queen condo. It can sleep up to 10 guests. The amenities are the same but remember that angle condos will give you even more space. The only difference between the 3 bedroom condos is the 4 TV set up and the accommodation of up to 12 guests. The difference with the 4 bedroom would be the 5 TV’s and the 2 jacuzzi tubs in the deluxe 4 Bedroom only. They will accommodate up to either 8 or 10 guests.
