When booking your stay directly with Sands Resorts to stay at the Villas at Ocean Forest Myrtle Beach on 10 South Carolina acres you will get free admission to TWO water parks: The Sands Resort Water Park (Sands Guests Only) and the Wild Water and Wheels Water Park (Open To Public, Based on Availability and ONLY Seasonal). Both of these water parks offer fun in the sun water activities however the water parks are not on the villa grounds. If you want to stay where the water park is technically located, you will need to check out the Sand Dunes Resort and Spa via Sands Resorts just 1.4 miles away. Between both water park attractions there is a combined total of at least 7 water slides, various kiddie attractions for tots under 48″, a wave pool, spray waterfall, lazy rivers and a bubble pool. Although you will find the access to the fun water play understand that Wild Water and Wheels is approximately 14 miles away from the resort and can be almost a 30 minute drive in heavier traffic. Keep in mind that the overall reviews talk about both water parks being overcrowded. However, if you are looking for water activities this spot will definitely entertain your kids with water drenching fun. Here’s the scoop: The Villas at Ocean Forest Myrtle Beach SC itself will give you access to 2 large outdoor pools, an indoor pool, and a hot tub right there on-site. There is also a kids playground/water play area within the Sands Resort. In fact you will have access to multiple overall indoor and outdoor pools across all the sister properties just because you book with Sands Resorts to stay at a Sands Resort property. There are several sister properties here. The Wild Water and Wheels water park will give you access to 2 tube slides, 4 speed slides and 3 mat slides. For kiddie attractions you will find an open kiddie pool area for kids to slide and play, another area with more small slides and a waterfall entrance into a cave and yet another kiddie area with a raindrop fountain, mountain slide and a larger, gang plank slide. Wild Water and Wheels will also have a wave pool with 4 foot waves,a 950 ft. lazy river with waterfalls and raindrop fountains and an adult only lounge pool that you can submerge a chair into – the whirlpool bubbles are pretty cool there. Aside from the water factor you can also enjoy Go-Karts (different kinds for all ages).

These are Villas so there is no cleaning during the week and a mandatory cleaning fee when you leave. Each of these Condos are rented by a management company or individual. This means that one can be updated while another could not. Be aware of this and know what you are getting when you book.

Ocean Forest Villas
The accommodations at the Ocean Forest Villas at Myrtle Beach consist of condo like units over multiple buildings and some are privately owned. Keep that in mind. Someone’s idea of decor may be a little more outdated than what you would prefer so it’s important to ask for a current and updated condo unit upon booking your reservation. The 2 bedroom oceanview suites here can accommodate up to 6 guests. You will find a queen and 2 twin beds between the 2 bedrooms. There is a living room with a queen sofa bed as well. Save money by utilizing the full kitchen/dining area. The private balcony and 2 bathrooms tops it all off. The only thing missing (in my opinion) would be a washer/dryer. I like having a private area to wash my clothes while at the beach for the week. However, you will have access to coin operated laundry here at this property.
Take a look at some tips: You will NOT get water park access or other complimentary Sands Resorts perks unless booking directly with sandsresorts.com. This is only a 2.5 star property. Ask for an updated condo unit so you will not be disappointed as these villas can be privately owned. The buildings are older and are only 3 stories high. You will have to cross N Ocean Blvd to get to the beach. There are reports of no elevators in these older buildings.
Don’t forget that when reserving via sandsresorts.com you will have guest privileges at all the Sands Resorts sister properties such as: Sand Dunes Resort and Spa (1.4 Miles), Sands Ocean Club (5.9 Miles),Sands Beach Club (6.1 Miles),Ocean Forest Plaza (6.3 Miles) and Ocean Forest Villas (6.2 Miles). Bottom line is: The Water Resort Ocean Forest Villas is not technically a “water resort” like people think but, again, it does offer the use of the Sands Water Park at the Sand Dunes Resort. Both of these properties are apart of the overall Sands Resorts properties. Another downfall of this resort is the Ocean Forest Villas is that the buildings and accommodations are only 2.5 star and the number 1 complaint is that they are pretty old and outdated. Ultimately you will have to decide what is best for your family. You may find that the guest privileges and amenities out weigh the not so new issues at hand.
