If you are looking for one of the premier, high end, more luxurious places to stay on your visit to the Grand Strand, you might want to look at the Marriott Resort and Spa at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach. This resort is not in the mix with all of the major attractions to the southern end of the beach, it is found a little further north. It is not, however, considered part of North Myrtle Beach. If you are the type of person who enjoys the action but likes to be able to leave it behind as well, this could be a good reason to stay a few miles away from the Broadway on the Beach area.
At the Beach
While this resort is located directly on the Sand of Myrtle Beach, you should know, that the way that the building is positioned, there are only a handful of rooms that are actually considered Oceanfront. This is due to the fact that the building does not sit with its back against the Beach but rather its side. There are plenty of Ocean View rooms and for most, just being able to open those balcony doors, well actually just a sliding door with a railing, and listen to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore is a great beach adventure.
Rooms and a few unlisted Suites
A couple of different room configurations are available when booking. You have the option of getting a standard Guest Room with a single King Bed or with 2 Double Beds. The only real difference in the rooms is the view that you will have during your stay. This is where the difference in price comes in as well. If you really want to be Oceanfront, you do get a true balcony with seating to watch over the people as they pass by on the Beach.

Several of the reviews mention the great location, on the beach and away from all of the main area of Myrtle Beach but easy to drive to the fun if you like.

If an Ocean-view will do, you will not get a true balcony to walk out on but you do get a sliding door to open so you can have your views and also take in the sounds of the ocean. Saving money might be what you are looking for and if this is you, there are some rooms that offer views of the Resort. These rooms might not have the best views but they are the least expensive and they are still in the same building so you are just a quick walk to the beach no matter what room you stay in. If you are interested in a little more space, Junior Suites are available if you call in. If you really want to be in the lap of luxury during your visit, check out the Presidential Suite.
Fun things to do
You bet that there are fun things to do at the Marriott Resort and Spa in Myrtle Beach. This property is one of the prime locations you can stay when you are in the area. Challenge your kids to a game of Ping Pong or dribble down the basketball court and show them how to shoot some hoops. Beside the main pool you can get involved in a friendly game of Corn Hole and see who has the best aim.
Water Slide and Fun
The Indoor Pool is very inviting whether you are taking a dip because you have had a little too much sun or if the weather is not cooperating to be outside for a while. The 2 outdoor pools are very large and accommodate all of the resort guests very well. If you are looking for a little more in the Water Fun Area, off to the side of the main pool, you will hear the laughter and frolicking of kids and adults a like as they slip and slide down the curvy Water Slide.
